Your make up is only as good as the tools you use. Sponges are great for taking off excess makeup, blotting your application or giving extra coverage to most powder products. When applying your foundation I found it is better to apply it with a brush to give a more even distribution of the product whether it is liquid of powder. The same concept goes for your eye shadow and blush application.
When applying your eye shadows, it is better to you use the right type of brush to get the right application... a) smaller brushes give more detail... b)softer fluffy brushes give more of an airbrush effect.. c) Firm brushes give more of a defined look. When applying makeup to yourself or another individual, it is always best that your brushes have been cleaned and dried to give the best results.
*Airbrush vs Traditional Brush Application-
When it comes to foundation application, you can receive almost the same flawless finish using both techniques. As always it depends on type and quality of your product AND your knowledge of your tools. Most airbrush foundations contain a higher pigment resulting in better coverage.... meaning, its almost like using a concealor as a foundation.
Airbrush can give you a softer application, but you also have to know how to work your gun to get the optimum useage out of it.
*Eyeliners-
Eyeliners define and make the eye POP!! No matter if it's dramatic black, fresh-looking white or a complimenting color like blue. If you want staying power, you have a few options depending on your useage.
a) To make pencil liners last longer, you can set them, like you do with foundations. Use a powder eye shadow, that matches or compliments the color of your liner, by applying it to your eye on top of the pencil line you just drew.
b) If your good with liquid liner, try gel liner. Most gel liners will adhere to the skin better causing a stronger staying power.You will have to use a good brush to apply this product
*Man ..OHHHH man!!-
Ladies and gentemen.....makeup is not just for the ladies anymore. Puff Daddy, Antonio Sabato Jr., Ricky Martin, Stallone...any male model, actor or musician that has done movies, video, TV or photo spreads have worn some amount of makeup to help them look their best. Makeup for a man can make the eyes look daring, a six pack scream or bronze a body like a greek god....and we can even do this just for your wedding day! (grin)
*Lash out at the world-
Many people are blessed with beautiful lashes, others....are not so lucky. You should take full advantage of being able to take charge and make your eyes one of your best assets. Use strip lashes for your occassional use...easy on, easy off and reuseable up to 3 times if you DON'T apply mascara. Eyelash exstenions are great for the person that wants extra lash power with out day to day trouble. Keep in mind, just like hair exstensions and false nails... they are STILL not YOUR real lashes. You need to take care and maintain them as you would and other beauty prosthetic if you want them to look NATURALLY great!
